9 Sneakers You Can Wear to Work

Comfort is key for those 14-hour days at the office. But we can’t exactly all show up to work in our running sneakers and pencil skirt (and if you can, consider yourself one of the lucky ones). Striking the right balance between not feeling your feet ache and impressing the boss with your outfit is tough, but fortunately many designers are catching on to the sneaker trend.

Here are 9 sneakers that are super comfy and still stylish enough to be work appropriate.

Not Your Grandma’s Red Lipstick

Red lips are part of the ultimate classic look. Whether I’m wearing sweatpants and a t-shirt or a little black dress, red lipstick immediately makes me feel like I stand-out, in a good way.

That said, wearing red lipstick that is too ‘cold’ for my skin tone makes me look like a grandma. And red lipstick that’s too ‘warm’ makes my teeth seem discolored. It’s taken forever to find the perfect red shades. But these four shades are the perfect collection of fire-engine status, deep sexy brick, and dark mysterious red.

How I Earn Money While Shopping

I’d been seeing the commercials on TV with “real life” moms and housewives talking about how they love getting paid to shop. But I’d never paid it any mind and immediately thought of Ebates as a scheme. It didn’t make sense to me. Recently one of my closest friends tried it and invited me to sign up. Before doing so, I searched for customer complaints to see if I could figure out how the scheme works. But instead I read about how Ebates is able to pay people to shop, and decided to give it a try.

What I found was amazing. Upon my first two purchases, I received a $10 Target gift card in the mail as a sign-up reward. I do a lot of online shopping, so within a few months, I’d earned over $30 in Ebates cash back. To my surprise, that check came in the mail without me having to do any extra work. And yes, the check cleared.

Now Ebates even enables you to earn cash back by shopping in store, simply by linking store discounts to your credit card and then purchasing with that credit card.

5 Tips to Growing Out Hair Straightening

Having curly hair for most of my life, it’s been an uphill battle towards appreciating my ringlets. I would cry and cry as a child, asking my mom why my hair was so different than all the other girls at school. As a teenager, I’d love using a flat iron to straighten my hair, until I finally got it Japanese straightened. Four times.

Japanese straightening is the only straightening mechanism that will keep tough curly hair straight and frizz free (until roots start growing in). It doesn’t fade or wash out over time, and can only be reversed by growing out your hair.

Tips for Growing Out Japanese Hair Straightening

Not long after the fourth and most recent time I did this process did I began missing my curls. I’ve realized that my hair supports my personality, and I feel more comfortable when I let my natural curls go free.

For the past year, I’ve been growing out my Japanese straightening, patiently waiting for my curls to come back. We all know curly hair seems to grow super slowly, so here are my 5 tips to growing out your Japanese straightening.

Fall Wedding Style

This past weekend a couple of good friends got married in a lovely town in Pennsylvania. The weather was perfect for a wedding – sunny, clear and warm, with just a slight chill in the air. Fall weddings are my favorite because not only is the scenery outdoors beautiful and picturesque, but fall weddings call for wearing deep, rich colors – my favorite. Here is my look for the wedding celebration: an emerald green mermaid-style dress, chunky gold necklace, and strappy leather wedges.

Best Fall Nailpolish

We’re over a month into fall, and while some brands are already releasing their winter lines, I’m still just getting used to the darker shades replacing the bright pinks of summer nails. Here are my favorite shades this season (and okay, there’s one new winter shade in there already).

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6

I have to admit, the two shades I take through every season are deep maroon and black. What’s the one shade you wear year-round?
